Please Take the Pledge - Respect

Soccer continues to grow every year, but the number of referees continues to decline. Close to 75% of all young referees between the ages of 13 and 16 quit during or after their first year. The number one reason given why referees don't return is "verbal abuse" from coaches, spectators, and players.

All of our referees are licensed, meaning they have attended a class and passed an exam. They don't, however, really develop until they pick up a whistle and start calling a game. Please remember, that many of our referees are children and they are learning. They are someone's son or daughter. Please help us create a fair, safe, and enjoyable environment for everyone involved; players, coaches, spectators, and referees.
